Words in Bloom
Join us for an evening where flowers meet storytelling.
In this hands-on workshop with Canvas Blooms, guests will create a floral arrangement inspired by language, imagination, and personal expression. Each participant will choose a word from a curated collection of literary-inspired prompts—think words that evoke mood, meaning, and imagery.
From there, you’ll select a vessel and begin building a floral design that reflects your chosen word (or whatever inspiration strikes). With guidance from a professional florist, you’ll learn foam-free floral design techniques and explore how color, texture, and symbolism can shape your arrangement.
The workshop will feature a thoughtfully curated mix of premium blooms and unique seasonal flowers in rich and unexpected colors, giving you plenty of creative options to bring your vision to life.
Workshop Includes:
A guided introduction to foam-free floral arranging techniques
A curated list of literary-inspired words to spark your design
Your choice of vessel for your arrangement
A beautiful selection of seasonal blooms in unique colors and textures
Personalized guidance in selecting flowers based on color, type, and symbolism
Leave with your own meaningful floral creation—and perhaps a new favorite word.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase from the café and bar during the event.

This Month’s Book
Half His Age by Jennette McCurdy
Waldo is ravenous. Horny. Blunt. Naive. Wise. Impulsive. Lonely. Angry. Forceful. Hurting. Perceptive. Endlessly wanting. And the thing she wants most of all: Mr. Korgy, her creative writing teacher with the wife and the kid and the mortgage and the bills, with the dead dreams and the atrophied looks and the growing paunch. She doesn’t know why she wants him. Is it his passion? His life experience? The fact that he knows books and films and things that she doesn’t? Or is it purer than that, rooted in their unlikely connection, their kindred spirits, the similar filter with which they each take in the world around them? Or, perhaps, it’s just enough that he sees her when no one else does.
