Let’s help ouT the Thurber House
The Thurber House has been a keystone institution for Ohio writers, readers, artists and creatives of all ages and backgrounds for the past 40 years! They are struggling to stay open and in these trying times, resources like this are more important than ever.
Birdie Books is currently running a fundraiser campaign in the bookshop. Our staff has made writing themed pins as well as a beautiful Frog & Toad inspired print, “Together in All Weather” both of which are available in the shop with all proceeds directly benefiting Thurber House!

Thurber House is a nonprofit literary arts center, James Thurber museum, historic landmark, and gathering place for readers, writers, and artists of all ages. More than a museum, our House is Columbus’s literary arts hub, creative space, and historic landmark. Thurber is where the community gathers in celebration of the written word, is ignited by art, and unites in laughter. Within the walls of Thurber, writers find support, students find guidance, and community members find inspiration.
